The ship SS NORWAY-FRANCE becomes a legend - Result of the auctions - Paris, France.
The 2 auctions held in Paris, France (ARTCURIAL, auctions house, on Champs-Elysees), on Sunday 8 and Monday 9 February 2009 regarding the items-artifacts of the beloved ship SS FRANCE-NORWAY has broken the expected record.
The total amount of the 2 auctions reachs 1.186.000 Euros.
The "nose" (bow) of the ship SS NORWAY-FRANCE has been sold for 273.000 Euros. A French property developer located in Deauville (Normandy) has bought this "relic" of the last French transatlantic liner.
Thanks to Jacques DWORCZAK, a French maritime expert, about 500 items-artifacts has been saved from the scrapyard during SS NORWAY-FRANCE (Blue Lady) breaking up in Alang Bay (India).
