    Remembering Oakridge

Recently deployed to assist the residents of Oakridge Mobile Home Park, the volunteers of the LA City Fire Department were there to do whatever was needed by the residents as they sifted through the rubble of what was left of their homes.  These two pictures don't begin to express the devastation caused by high winds, dry brush and an unexpected early morning wake up call that have left their mark in the hearts and minds of many Angelenos. One lucky resident exclaimed "I found something". Happy to find even a little trinket or ornament, the residents searched for weeks before the remaining rubble will be bulldozed away.  Those residents were still happy and maintained a great sense of humor. The residents of Oakridge have survived and endured one of life's most challenging trials.
