What does Obama’s presidency mean? |
The fight against racial prejudice is just starting
On January 20, 2009, the world saw something that never happened in the history of the United States. Eyes full of tears, screams euphoric and tireless saved the palms. A black Democrat in the party, taking command of the nation. Abraham Lincoln, Republican, perhaps never dreamed of this day. But Martin Luther King, who fought his whole life in search of the equality of races, and a state fair and fraternal perhaps had sometimes dreamed of this moment.
The victory of Obama seems to have something providential, as if it were an act of divine compassion towards humanity. We live in dramatic times with major crises: the ecology, climate, food, energy and the economy. The conceptual and practical arsenal available is not able to forge a way liberating. We need a change, a new utopian horizon, courage to invent new ways. It is necessary to a charismatic personality that inspires confidence, security and serenity to face these disasters and galvanize people to a new test of coexistence, a different way to build the economy and build a kind of globalization pluripolar that respects differences and can include all in the same destination. So, I knew his words: "The world has changed, and we change with it."
Finish to congratulate you for that achievement, not only him, but of all who believe in his ideals and his character, wishing you luck and peace to guide the American people during his years in office. Well as Luther King said in a speech made on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, on the date of August 28, 1963.
"I have a dream that one day people will be judged not by the color of their skin but by the strength of his character."
Finally, the dream is done!
