Stimulus thoughts: What you'd fix first

Good and Bad on the Stimulus

Bush Bailouts and Obama's Stimulus not the same in my opinion. It is not right to bail out any one company going under because of poor management especially with no guidelines or limitation. But with that being said this country does need some kind of plan of action to jumpstart the economy. I quickly looked over the Stimulus Bill and found some promising points, but I will say I was a little disappointed too and her are my thoughts...

One promising point for me is fixing up the schools and making them more energy efficient. I don't see how anyone could not think that is not a good idea...not to sound like I'm back in the 80's, but children are our future. I don't only think the schools need improved I think the kids should have to volunteer one way or another to help improve the schools too...teach the children to have a little pride in themselves and their schools.

Something I was disappointed to see was the increase in welfare and food stamp benefits. Welfare is nothing but a trap and once you get in it's hard to get out. If you increase that money then it will be even harder for people on assistance to stand on their own two feet or even want too. I think there should have been some kind of plan built in to help with child care for all families whether a two parent home or a single parent home, homes with 1 child and homes with 5 children. The "Child care tax credit" was revised, but people need "here and now" not at the end of the year. Instead of welfare benefits and food stamps make people work and help them with child care...In my opinion child care is a huge problem. Instead of that cash assistance put to daycare the parents work and it's not forever kids eventfully grow up...in my eyes it's a win, win situation.

These are only two points I picked out from the good and the bad. I'm sure every ireporter, democrat, republican, male, female, gay, strait, religious, none religious...well you get the point...can sift through and pick their likes and dislikes, but I would hope we all have to agree something needs to be done.
