Journey to change |
12 Million Steps to a New Me
My name is Jared Maynard. I live just outside of Cincinnati, OH where I work as an insurance agent. I have been overweight all my life and am now trying to do something about it.
The first picture is of me and my fiance from the early fall of 2006. At the time I weighed well over 400 lbs. During the summer of 2008, I decided to make a change. I set out to walk 12,000,000 steps over the next three years to lose the weight that was keeping me from living my life. Since then, I have lost almost 60 lbs as noted in the second picture. I track my steps on my blog 12MillionSteps.com.
This year I have made my New Year's resolution to walk five million steps and lose 100 lbs during this year. I am continuing to walk daily and I follow the Weight Watchers eating plan. Some weeks are better than others, but I am still on pace after a few weeks.
P.S. - My fiance has also lost over 50 lbs since this photo.
