Helpful Tips for the Unemployed & Uninsured

These are some things I have been able to get or learn to help me while unemployed. I hope they help others!! PRESCRIPTIONS: Check the web for patience assistance programs to see if your drug is listed. If so, you can get it deeply discounted or free. My prescription is $1400.00mth w/out insurance and I was able to get it for free for 1 year. Check the maker of the drugs' website too. Also, Florida has two prescription plans that allow you to get prescriptions at discounted prices - even if you have insurance. Sometimes it is cheaper. here the links; www.floridadiscountdrugcard.com www.coast2coastrx.com Check your state to see if they have a similar program. CREDIT CARDS: call and write all creditors as many have hardship programs and will lower your payments to help maintain your credit rating. I know the following will do it: Citi, American Express, Discover and Target. GROCERIES: Stick to the Dollar Store for everything but meats. The savings are enormous!
