No Clean Water at Kutztown University
Today marks day five with out clean water at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Since Monday the University, the Borough, and surrounding township have been under a boil water advisory. Under this advisory people must bring their water to a rolling boil for 1 minute before using it to drink, prepare food, wash dishes, make coffee, etc. While this is an inconvenience for most it is impossible for some. Many students who live on campus don't have the facilities to boil water and aren't allowed to have hot plates (such as the students living in the university's brand new 800+ bed residence hall). The inability to use the water coupled with the inability to boil water is leaving some students wondering how long until the water is safe again, and how long can the university legally remain open.
