    How we first met[1]

    More from madhurima

    Still sweethearts

Me and my husband we both are from India. In our culture, marriages are called 'settled or arranged' marriages. That simply means that elders from both sides come together and boy's family comes to 'see' the girl. If they both like each other, a wedding takes place.

My husband was from Mumbai- a metro city. My family was from a small city in northern India. My best friend-who is also a relative of my husband-suggested this match to my father.

Things happened very fast from there. I met my husband  in a restaurant. We talked for an hour about our hobbies, interests and other stuff. By the time we finished our lunch, we both were sure that we share a lot of common interests.

We got married after two months. We will be celebrating our 14th marriage anniversary this year. We have two beautiful kids. After so many years, we are still deeply in love.

The best thing that my husband taught me is 'unconditional love'.

People often wonder how can someone decide to get married in one hour and how can such marriage last forever?' I can only say 'Marriages are made in heaven...'

We are still sweethearts because of the understanding, endless love, communication and total trust in each other.
