Buffalo plane crash |
Landing in light blowing snow before 3407 (7 of 7)
AirTran flight 550, a Boeing 717, breaks through the bottom of the cloud layer over Buffalo at 6:23 and touches down near scheduled ETA of 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12th, less than 4 hours before the loss of Continental 3407. Rear engine cowling is in the left of the frame, left wing in the right. Note the light blowing snow reflected in the left wing's landing light at the tip of the wing. Taxiing toward the terminal, out of the frame 4 or 5 snow plows in unison plowed an inch of slush off a runway. As we left the airport, the air felt particularly cold and damp, with light rain and light blowing snow as depicted in the video, accumulating as slush on cars and the ground.
