New Spot Fires - Bushfires
Wilst temperatures were low the fire danger is ever present, complacency can lead you into trouble.
What was to be a pleasant evening turned out to be eventfull, one spot fire, 12 fire trucks, 3 Helifighters of which one was "You Know Who" - Elvis. Belgrave National Forest Fire was spreading. Locals stamped out any small fires as the CFA tackled the flames head on.
All eyes were skyward as Elvis and the other two helifighters did their thing to extinguish the flames. After a couple of hours the battle was won and the mop up began.
Such is summertime life in the bush. As one local put it, "I would rather battle this than traffic in the burbs"
