    Descent into cloud over BUF 4 hrs before 3407 (5 of 7)

    AirTran Airways flight 550 banking as the Boeing 717 turns to make final approach into Buffalo at 6:11, 4 hrs. and 6 min. before the loss of Continental 3407.  As the 717 turns, it descends into the cloud layer of mist and fog blanketing a large area around Buffalo and Western New York.  With the terminal appearing on the left side of the aircraft, fl 3407 likely followed the same approach into BUF and similar weather conditions 4 hours later.
