Police investigate animal abuse over YouTube video.

A teenager, who's name is currently being witheld, is being sought by local law enforcement after a video was uploaded to YouTube of his gross abuse of a pet cat. The animal was slammed against a shower wall, punched, slapped, and had the shower turned on it. No information as yet of legal action being taken, but PETA did release this statement today. Thank you for your compassion in contacting us regarding these disturbing videos. Rest assured that PETA is working closely with law enforcement officials to determine the exact location of these cats, secure their safety, and ensure that their abusers are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Please be advised, however, that some unethical people appear to be taking this opportunity to publicly accuse people in several different states, and that law enforcement is already investigating these allegations and has-so far-discovered no hard evidence to link these people to the videos. We strongly encourage you to allow PETA and the authorities to proceed, rather than contacting any alleged abusers directly. If you have first hand information or evidence about these videos, we implore you to contact local law enforcement immediately, as well as letting us know. The video has been removed from YouTube, however it can still be seen online at Photobucket at http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/matt_1989/?action=view&current=pattycatpattycat.flv. The video is somewhat graphic, and viewer discretion is advised.
