This iReport is part of an assignment:
Bye, bye, Pontiac |
I LOVE MY CHEVY
OK - I loved my old Chevy. I cannot expres how much we loved our 2003 Chevy Blazer. It was the perfect car for toting our daughter, our dogs, our groceries - anything.
But all good things must come to an end! In April of last year - a mere year before we would apy off our lovely Blazer a DRUNK DRIVER pulled out in front of me. My little girl was in the back seat and didn't quite know what to think until I started checking to see if she was ok. We were fine. The other driver spent about 6 weeks in ICU.
I think the Blazer is what saved my life and kept my little girl from being injured. The other driver was driving a 90s model Honda Hatchback which survived the crash as a mangled heap of teal green metal. VERY SCARY.
This is the only major accident I have ever been in and I was shocked to see that at 40 miles an hour my car suffered what is called by the insurace company a "comprehensive total" (meaning the car could easily be repaired but the cost would out-total the value of the car) and the other car ended up with the driver & drivers seat punched through the driver's side door, glass rolled up in a tiny ball on the side of the road, and a total width of the vehicle sitting at about 2 feet.
Again, VERY SCARY. This man could have easily died from his injuries (thank God he didn't) and I had a bruised knee and breast bone. My daughter had a few bruises from the staps on her car seat. I couldn't believe the damage we had managed to avoid/inflict simply because we drove a safe vehicle.
Our Blazer was the best car EVER.
With little time before the insurance company stopped paying for my rental and only a lunch break to car shop I ended up with a 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic. The picture above is a generic stock photo of my car. It looks exactly the same. In fact - every 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic looks exactly the same. This is the most generic blah vehicle in existence. Runs very well, very reliable, large trunk, 4 doors for easy access to the little one, and absolutely no character whatsoever.
BLAH!
I still will be an avid Chevy driver for the rest of my life because of the Blazer incident but man my car is boring.
I know, looks and bells & whistles don't mean much if you are concerned about safety and reliability. I love Chevrolet. I would hate to see them dissapear.
CHEVY - get your CEO's head out of his A** and get in gear. It's not like you don't have the financial support. People are depending on you to make wise business decisions and run a viable company. Pull yourself together and keep me in a great car.
Just, maybe next time, could you add a little flavor?
