Bye, bye, Pontiac |
Can't Beat 'Em
Don't get me wrong, I've gotten better gas mileage, and I've driven more environomentally friendly cars, but I'll never be ashamed of my Chevrolet.
I've owned Hondas and Toyotas. Both are good cars and run well. I've even owned a Toyota truck, but nothing says truck like an American truck. Nothing else has the power or the comfort. It's sad that the American auto industry is where it is today, but its not here because it makes inferior cars, I'll tell you that. Growing up, all I heard was, "never drive an American car, you'll just end up on the side of the road." But no other car or truck I've driven has made me feel more secure or comfortable. And when excitement calls, there's no other vehicle I'd charge a sand dune, or go back woods hunting in than my Chevy.
You can take your fuel sippers and your compact parkers, but when the whole world comes crashing down, American trucks are going to be what's driving over the rubble.
