This iReport is part of an assignment:
Phelps suspended |
NO EVIDENCE SO THE CELEBRITY FISH SWIMS AWAY
He is an American hero but "he is still obligated to obey the laws..." so says Leon Lott the Sheriff of Richland County, South Carolina, of Michael Phelps who was snapped on camera smoking marijuana.
Hello?? Is any one at the Sheriff's office who gives a damn about the laws of South Carolina? If Phelps is obligated to obey the laws of your state, you are obligated to carry out your duty and help enforce the law by arresting him. What don't you understand? Perhaps this is a case of star struck. Phelps even admitted using bad judgment and indication that he did something wrong. There are pictures all over for public consumption. The man needs to be stopped. In 1995, he was arrested for DUI. What has to happen before someone cracks down on this impending train wreck?
Once again the wrong message is being sent out. A different set of laws for celebrities and we thought California had the dubious honor of protecting athletes and entertainers.
