911 and Gps activation is essential for everyone

I was robbed and beaten Saturday night. The police have a vague description of individuals and are aware of the incident. I wasn't able to describe individuals in detail. . I was outside my car when approached by teen to pay food bill, I noticed him shuffling in his pocket for money and got suspicious, I tried to get back in car when I was "give me your money" I managed to sit on my front seat and handed the money to him and he started going thru my back pocket for more. Another individual punched me side of my head. My life was being threatened a this point. I looked at my gear shifter and shifted the car in drive possibly striking my assailants and called 911. I told the officer that I possibly hurt my assailants with my car. Finger printing on my car produced no clues. 911 and GPS activation on phones is essential to everyone in such an emergency if the assailants were to kill me. Many crimes would be solved by use of GPS on cellphones...Currently you can opt in or opt out of option on phones. I feel if this option should be better promoted by our local government and the possibility of a requirement should be law"
