Snowy Manhattan Monday Pictures
For some reason I decided to walk to work to see how all the snow had unfolded across Manhattan, and these pictures are from my walk Monday morning (Mar 2 09) which started out in the E. Village on 1st Ave near Houston and ended in Chelsea on 7th near 27th. The pelting snow burn my face took may not have been worth the energy it took to snap these photos and the functionality in my fingers is slowly returning to normal. The snow is still coming down now outside the window in the office and it looks like it is going to continue for awhile. The reports from our Long Island office and Staten resident co-workers are that the snow was heavy as well.
Since I am from the central coast of California I am still a bit fascinated with the urban snowfall factor and love how New Yorkers will power through just about any conditions to get where they need to be. Taxi’s were still out and about, buses were running and things were still operating generally smooth all things considered. I'm impressed!
