    Deceptive Marketing - Dieters BEWARE!!!

     
    How many of you search the internet to get other people's opinion's of diet plans before trying them out? If you are like most people, then you at least try some due diligence before spending money and committing to any given plan. With the advent of the blog, marketers are pulling out all the stops and leaving their ethics in their back pocket (if they have them to begin with) when promoting their product. Take this image for example. It appears to be "Sandra's Diet Blog" with multiple posts and even comments from others. Note that the ability to post comments has conveniently been "... closed due to spam". To the less savvy surfer, this may appear to be a ligitimate blog recounting one person's great experience with "ThermothinPlus". After all, that's what the marketers of this product want you to believe... ad they have gone to great lengths to trick people in believing just that. When it comes to ethics in business, I have a pretty straightforward position: If you intentionally attempt to mislead someone, you are engaging in unethical behavior. This advertisement is made to look like a blog. It is not a blog. It wants you to think that "Sandra" used the product and loved the product.
