Signs of the economic times |
Itasca Blues and Living Small
Just like millions of other Americans we have been hit by the recession. I have been unemployed for several months and looking to no avail. My wife and I moved out of our rented housing and purchased a 26 foot, 1978 Itasca motorhome. Living in confined quarters has been an interesting challege. We were able to move onto property owned by relatives so that we had such things as electric, sewer and water without adding to the rent. I have sold several of my prized possessions just to help meet the bills. This is a new era. We feel that the motorhome was as close to recession proof as we could find and still have a roof over our head. We have opened a daily blog for anyone who wants to join us on our adventure. I am sure it will be challenging but hopefully in the end it will be rewarding. We do own 10 acres nestled in the woods that we hope to develop and be able to move out there someday within the next year or two.
