This iReport is part of an assignment:
Coney Island amusement park closing |
Memories of Coney Island and Astroland
The closing of Astroland basically means the demise of the entire area. Although Astroland occupies a small piece of the amusement park it's the first step in the entire areas renovation. We'll still have the beach, the Cyclone Rollercoaster, the ferris wheel and last but not least...Nathans hot dogs!!
I'm sad to see Astroland on its last legs but something needs to be done to revitalize the area. A renovation this size doesn't happen overnight and I see many stumbling blocks on the way to a better Coney Island
These pictures have been taken over a period of time.
This starts my series of Coney island memories.
