This iReport is part of an assignment:
Are you afraid to invest in the stock market? |
Heck Yes I'm Afraid to Invest the Stock Market-Aren't You?Thanks for all the Great Input!
In response to my recent post
http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-224290
I just want to take this time to thank many of you for the excellent responses.
It confirmed my concerns and oh Yes, I'm afraid to invest in the stock market now.
But I came away from that post learning quite a bit, and for younger people, this probably is a good time to go in, but for my husband and I, we are in our early 50's and this is NOT the time to get in.
And another response, which from one individual, unless you really have the time to study and keep a vigilant eye on the market and your own investments that it is best not leave it to others to make decsions for you- Absolutely!
I have already been though a substantial loss several yerars back. And now many of our friends are experiencing tremendous losses in their retirement portfolios. And there is no telling when this will rebound.
For us, our comfort level has been in real estate. We certaintly don't do it on a large scale. At the end of the day, regardless, we still have something tangible
I just want to say again-Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
