    An indigenous leader speaks to journalists after taking over the house

    of Bolivia's former vice president Victor Hugo Cardenas, located on the

    shores of the Titicaca lake, some 70 km (43 miles) north of La Paz,

    March 7, 2009.

     

     

    *Hundreds of residents in Sancajahuira took over the

    house of Cardenas and burned their belonging after beating Cardena's Wife and Children, as a protest against his opposition to President Evo

    Cardenas was the first indigenous vice president in the

    Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada government from 1993 to 1997.
