Stem Cell Research
On CNN's page today, the following was said:
"A top congressional Republican on Sunday criticized President Barack Obama's expected decision to reverse the Bush administration's limits on embryonic stem-cell research, calling it a distraction from the country's economic slump."
OK so we are to believe that the president is to do NOTHING except focus on the economy? NOTHING? REALLY??? He is to just sit there while there are wars being fought in mulitple countries, schools that need funding, etc to only work on the economic problems of our country?
No... What is happening is the conservative GOP people see this as a way to keep their conservative backwards laws/viewpoints on stem cell research the way they are and not allow reform, and they will say absolutely anything to make this happen.
This is the major problem with the hardcore conservatives in this country. In order to progress medicine we need to do some things that may be considered unethical or wrong to some type of people. BUT it will be good for the progress of medicine. Conservatives need to learn that they need to progress to be competitive in the political market. It's like saying that anesthesia could hurt people and it's not necessary and then have someone bite on a stick while they cut their leg off.
