This iReport is part of an assignment:
Signs of the economic times |
Storekeeper has a last message for absent customers: F U
Yesterday I was driving along Ventura Blvd. in the San Fernando Valley and I saw another closed down store. A common scene of economic dilapidation. Some faded furniture was strewn about the front display area. I wondered why no one had jumped the fence and stolen that stuff yet.
Suddenly my eye tracked up and I saw the message “F U “ made out of some kind of tape. This send off is sad and funny all at once; the parting shot of a business owner who never saw these hard times coming.
I think the full sign once said FURNITURE.
