Muslim-American Illegally Detained by Blackwater
Here is an incredible story that is long overdue in being heard. As part of the Journey into America project with Professor Akbar Ahmed of American University, an interview was conducted with Mr. Abdul Rahman, a general contractor from New Orleans. In his effort to save the lives of elderly people during Hurricane Katrina, Mr. Rahman was illegally detained by Blackwater and taken to an 'undisclosed jail'. He was threatened with machine guns and was denied medical treatment, along with other inhumane episodes.
