$25 Mink Coat
In the quaint town of Fredericksburg,Virginia the main drag of town
is lined with old trees, a few ice cream parlors, and stretches of
antiques stores. People enjoy outside concerts, walking their dogs, and
strolling this quaint neighborhood.
Last August, I ventured to
the city, just right outside of Washington DC. While in town, some
tourist shopping was underway. I wasn't looking for anything nor
nothing at the same time. Antique after antique store, my eyes glazed
over the mountains of dishes, aluminum toys, and overly-worn jewelry.
It was the last store, where in my browsing through items, did my eyes
fixate on some shiny, soft fur. It was a mink coat. And a mink coat at
that. Short cut, high collar, and in-style for the current times, but
obviously from a good 40 or 50 years back. I tried it on-perfect fit.
But now was the test of the time, asking the cashier the price. The
response, $25 dollar. $25 dollars for a mink coat that was in top-notch
quality. It's mine.
The mink coat has now turned heads down
Michigan Avenue and had strangers compliment it, all while hiding its
vintage & cheap history. It was the best purchase I have ever made and thank Fredericksburg for supplying me this find.
