    Recycled Blue Jean Jacket

I have been recycling blue jeans since 1990 by making different clothes and artwork.

My best product is this jacket which is fully lined through the sleeves with comfortable flannel.

I traveled the gift markets and junior league circuit for a couple years selling these jackets, they are very popular.

Any person can make these jackets as I am living proof of this, all you need is a sewing machine and some hammer on buttons and five pair of old blue jeans.

I used the pant legs to cut out the pattern needed for the cuffs, collar, sleeves and front of the jackets. The back is pieced together using the but part so all of the recycled material is used.

The wastebands are removed and used to seal the lapel and waste of the jacket.

The rest is history really, it took several design modifications to find the easiest and fastest way to produce these jackets for resale.

The goodwill was a great source for materials.

The lining fabric can also be made of old shirts that are sewn together then recut to pattern.

Even a hoodie could be used for the lining in a more cold climate.

    Thats about it, enjoy!

I will be glad to answer questions on this subject.
