My Best Thrift Store Find
I'm not much of a spender but I love books. I have a mile long wish list on Amazon that never seems to get any shorter no matter how many books I buy. When I was in college I couldn't really afford text books so I borrowed from friends and used the library reserve texts when I could.
Ever since I graduated I've yearned to own those text books. If not the exact same ones at least a textbook from that discipline. There's something about leafing trough a text book and reading it that thrills me. The information is available on the internet but it isn't the same.
I found a second hand organic chemistry book on Amazon that was selling for $30.00 and was contemplating buying it. Before I made up my mind to buy it I was able to snatch a moment out of my busy work day and pop into the thrift store in Chama and check out the books there.
There it was, marked at $10.00!
I was thrilled!
I went to the cash register and the woman told me "that will be $2.00 please" then she laughed at the amazed look on my face and said "was it marked differently? We sometimes get them after a yard sale and they're marked with the yard sale price. All the books are $2.00"
I still can't believe that I bought an organic chemistry book for $2.00!
