CrossFit celebrates St. Patricks, and honors the fallen
CrossFitters around the world yesterday celebrated St. Patrick's day by doing a workout appropriately named, "Murph." This workout was named in honor of Lt. Michale Murphy who gave his life in Afghanistan in 2005.
This workout consists of a one mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another mile run. All done with a 20lb vest to give some idea of the weight of body armor that our service members must wear every day. This workout typically takes anywhere from thirty-five minutes to well over an hour.

CrossFit was started in 1995 by Coach Greg Glassman. Today there are over 1,000 affiliations across six continents. It is tradition for some of their longest, most grueling workouts to be named after service members who have given their life for their country.
