This iReport is part of an assignment:
Surviving a tough economy |
I got married in a $30 dress
...and looked like a million bucks!!
It's true. I scored this gorgeous, bright red, vintage 80's Mike Benet ball gown from a rescue mission thrift store in New Jersey. The price tag was $30.
At the time I purchased it I was not engaged. I didn't even have a boyfriend! I actually saw the gown - LOVED IT - bought it on sight - and said to myself, "SOMEDAY I WILL GET MARRIED IN THIS DRESS!"
And nearly 2 years later... I did!
I didn't even have to have the dress altered. It's like it was made for me. It was in perfect condition and even smelled good. My husband said I couldn't have found a better match for our wedding day and my personality.
I'm happy - even proud - that I didn't spend thousands on my wedding gown. I have always enjoyed money-saving by shopping at thrift stores, and this was my best find ever.
