Small business showcase |
5th-Graders Create Own Businesses
Ricky Bell thinks capitalism is receiving a lot of undeserved criticism. To counteract all the bad press, Mr. Bell decided to partner with S.I.F.E. of Northwest Arkansas Community College to show his students how to create and run their own businesses. The 5th-graders went through all the steps: writing a business plan, taking out loans, manufacturing a product, selling the product, repaying their loans.
S.I.F.E. means Students in Free Interprise.
Principal Don Johnson of Elmdale Elementary School in Springdale, AR, assured me that all the students shown in this video have signed media releases.
