I was watching "Good Morning America" this morning and they had  a report on how the Palm Beach wealthy are selling pricey objects such as jewelry, paintings , french clocks and any other expensive trinket to sell  for the cash. These people who reside in this most exclusive compound must have been hit pretty hard. I understand a lot of these people had to sell those beautiful Mediterranean mansions.. I wonder if those rich men's trophy wives will stick around if and when the economy comes back? And I wonder if there was another motivation behind Madoff's scam where he ripped off 90 percent of the wealthy Jewish population-His people. It couldn't just because he loved to live high on the hog, with the yachts, the jewelry, the fine homes, that 40 thousand dollar Steinway piano I wish I had because I do play the piano, the finest wines and food and bank accounts with money bulging out of the safe deposit boxes. His scam was smooth as silk. he played these people like a Stradivarius violin and they did not ask questions. They just saw the 12 to 17 percent in profits every quarter and then bragged about it. yes I wonder was greed the main motivation behind all of this- I think Madoff had scores to settle.
