Rihanna and Chris Brown...New 'Ike and Tina'?

..and then something tragic happens like cutey-pie, formerly-joined-at-the-hip couple-         Chris Brown and Rihanna become the latest casualty for TMZ fodder, and you think "Whaaat? HIM???..he doesn't look like a bully..I mean yeah, he wears a 'wife beater' t-shirt every now and then..but...i'm just sayin'"; once again proving you never know what goes on behind closed doors..sometimes it's closed fists leading to closed eyes.....
With all the media speculation about them as Hip-Hop's new "Ike and Tina", whose career will end behind this, and how PR reps for both the "Chris Brown" camp and the "Rihanna" one will spindoctor this  into a career boost, it's easy to forget perhaps that a young woman was brutally victimized. ..again.
I read recently that Rihanna finally broke her silence saying "She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time." in that same report I heard that her father was livid over the photos being leaked ( understandable of course) and that there's talk about Rihanna possibly becoming a national spokeswoman against violence against women....
Well, I say this:whether you are a Rihanna or Chris Brown fan or not, it is shocking to see how desensitized people are about how common this  is now.
I don't necessairily like the idea of Rihanna's people using this as a means to position a new career angle for her and I don't wanna' see Chris Brown's promising career end...I want to see him get help.
    make that both of them....
