Obama's debt cutting plan |
Critical Equipment for an Effective Job Search
Get yourself a webcam, find out how to use it and pretend that camera is an interviewer. Get questions in your field from the internet or colleagues, etc. It will help you get your head together and maintain focus. Seeing y urself will help immensely. Get use to looking at yourself - the interviewer will.
Make sure you have a small spiral pad and pen in your pocket or purse to write down leads and phone numbers on the fly.
Have business cards made up for yourself - even with your picture on them. You can do it on your computer or have them professionally done but in both cases, use a fairly hefty paper stock.
As I always say, get out of the house! Networking garners you fresh leads that have not yet hit the internet. You may, in talking with someone at a cocktail party make such an impression that they see that they need you.
SMILE. It is your best outfit.
GIVE STRONG HANDSHAKES - it shows you have character and you're serious.
It's still a good idea to send off a note after an interview.
