Use Your Skills to Sell Information
Folks, this is not the America that used to be. Yes, it's still the 'land of the free home of the brave’, but for most of us trying to make a living, it’s much tougher to survive than it used to be. Even advanced college degrees don’t get you in the door.
America was built on manufacturing, but that's gone. Now, we're a country of marketers, selling stuff that's produced elsewhere.
Ok, we have to deal with it. I know from experience. I have a degree in engineering, but my job went out the door after 25 years. No complaints - 25 years is a good gig. Still, with high health care, my kids' college costs, insurance, and the plain old cost of living in the NY area, I went through savings quickly.
Well, engineering was my comfort zone, but I decided that marketing and sales were the keys to long-term survival (for me, at least) in the good old USA.
So, I knew I had to sell something and it had to be something that could be delivered over the internet - an info product (in other words, no inventory).
I had a steep learning curve because I knew nothing about selling over the internet, or building an on-line business for that matter. Anyway, it worked, and now I earn a living from my home office. I attribute it to luck and the fact that my engineering background helped with the technical stuff.
If you're looking to survive in the internet age, and you want to make money using the internet, maybe I can help you, because it’s not as easy as you might think. I also have a great mortgage and debt reduction product that I've developed and it's in high demand, so it sells well.
The way I figure it, if GM, with all their resources has trouble making money selling cars, there was no shame in me having a tough time! Anyway, I'm through the hard part and at least I can rely on myself now and I won’ t have to look for a job anymore.
I still miss my days of manufacturing engineering, but, there’s no use being nostalgic when there’s bills to pay.
Anyway, I started a website where people can find help starting their own web-based business. It's at www.HomeOfficeTeam.com
If you're scratching your head, wondering how to 'make it' in this economy, maybe it will give you some ideas.
Information products may not be for everyone, but then again, more of our economy is based on selling information based products, so, as they say “when in Rome…..”
