This iReport is part of an assignment:
Impressions of Obama press conference |
"I like to know what I'm talking about"
In the news conference last night President Obama was asked why it took two days to express outrage at the AIG bonuses and he said "because I like to know what I'm talking about before I speak." If you take him at his word then you have to assume he didn't know at least one of the following:
1. What he was talking about when he approved the payouts in the first place.
2. That he didn't know he had approved the bonuses.
3. That he did know, but didn't know people would be upset and didn't have a ready response.
4. That it takes two days to come up with a Presidential response of outrage.
I'm open to other reasons for his delay. Feel free to postulate below.
