This iReport is part of an assignment:
Flooding in the Great Plains |
Red River Crest On The Rise 41 To Possibly 43 Feet
Driving from south Fargo to Moorhead to help friends clear a basement west of Concordia College, it took nearly an hour to travel through Fargo to Moorhead.
We drove past the dike west, near downtown and saw volunteers adding sandbag to the top of the dike.
We passed over the Veteran's Memorial Bridge into Moorhead, MN and saw nearly 15 National Gaurd members sandbagging a small contained leak on the south west side of the bridge. There was no threat to that area.
After clearing out a friends basement, we headed back into Fargo. Traffic along Main Street was backed up well past 25th Steet & Main Street. Along with Interstate 94 heading East was a parking lot into Minnesota.
