This iReport is part of an assignment:
Flooding in the Great Plains |
Mad Dash For Sandbags As Red River Rises
The Red River crest level was raised from in between 41 and 43 feet Thursday afternoon, which means the sandbag dikes need to come up another foot from 43 to 44 feet.
Around 8pm Thursday night, truck loads of sand were dumped in Rose Creek's north side development, prior to the contingency dike going in. Friday morning the neighborhood will start adding to the existing dikes.
The snow fell and the temperatures dropped. Volunteers continued to arrive and sandbagged late into the night and early Friday morning.
