Flooding in the Great Plains |
Red River On The Rise, Contingency Dike In Progress
Late Thursday night a contingency dike is being constructed through south Fargo's development, Rose Creek, along its north end.
A clay dike roughly 5 feet high is being dumped and packed down from Centenial elementary school (25th Street & 40th Ave S) along Rose Creek Drive and connecting to the Rosewood clay dike already in place.
This is a secondary dike incase the primary sandbag dikes fail along the Rose Creek. This dike will protect overland flooding further into south Fargo.
