Ruben Navarette: FLUNKING REALITY
Ruben Navarette writes in his column, posted on CNN.com today that President Obama is "flunking economics".
To quote his article verbatim:
"Many Americans are so emotionally invested in the Obama presidency that they consider it too historic to fail. They won't tolerate any criticism of the president or his administration, finding it easier to simply attack critics. And whatever goes wrong that they can't defend or deflect, they just blame on George W. Bush. But to many of the rest of us, it's clear that President Obama is flunking economics. He is trying to do too much at once, and so he is not doing any of it well."
My thoughts?
Ruben Navarette, you and the GOP are a pack of whining, sore losers.
Mr. Obama inherited this colossal disaster from none other than yourselves. Eight years of a completely messed-up Republican administration have caused the giant sinkhole we are now trying to dig our way out of. And you claim that we just "blame George W. Bush" when Mr. Obama can't wave a magic wand and immediately make things right....
....Ummmm.....
Sir, to wake you up by throwing a heavy brass alarm clock at your head... it IS GEORGE W. BUSH'S FAULT.
No new president, no matter what polictical party he hailed from, would be able to snap his fingers and magically right the debacle Mr. Bush and his administration have spent the past eight years creating.
President Obama's job is certainly not enviable, but (a) he has a plan, which is more than I can say for the sorry Bush Administration, and (b) he's done a heck of a job so far rallying Americans together to give them hope that we can and will get out of this mess, which (let me remind you once more) BUSH CREATED.
It's obvious that you are pretty sore McCain lost the election, but this is absolutely NOT the time to fabricate "emotional investment in our President" as an excuse for the failing state of our economy and the nation in general. You have no doubt angered a lot of people with this statement, which borders on racist. And your attempt to skew reality makes about as much sense as if you had proclaimed, "The sky is green!" and expected the herds to just moo and believe.
Now kindly shut your (very offensive) pie hole and let our new President do his job.
