This iReport is part of an assignment:
Time to legalize pot? |
Drug Problems
If the news covered that there are legal drugs causing sickness, fatalities, family and societal problems, there likely would be additional outcries to make these drugs illegal. But there are drugs like that: cigarettes and alcohol. Both of these cause huge amounts of problems... but look at what happened when alcohol was made illegal. That action created an unstoppable crime wave. Alcohol was subsequently legalized and it remains so today in the USA. Consider this the next time you vote against legalizing other drugs. Making something that millions of people do every day illegal just creates a nation of artificially-branded criminal activity, and encourages hardcore criminals to take advantage of a massive artifically-illegal industry.
Update: As noted in the comments, pot is apparently legal at any rock concert, if you have been to any concert since 1969 you know what I'm talking about. If the legality of pot were really in question, then why would it be condoned at rock concerts across the USA?
