This iReport is part of an assignment:
An hour without power |
Preparing for GeoThermal Drilling
During Earth Hour we will be marking the spots in our back yard for the GeoThermal drilling which begins Monday. Our home was flooded during Tropical Storm Fay Aug 22, 2008. We decided to demolish it and rebuild Green (and on stilts!) We have salvaged 7,500+ bricks, stored all the good lumber off site for reuse and recycled 1.38 tons of glass.
The goal is to be back in our home by the anniversary of the storm... watch the progress at www.BuiltTotallyGreen.com.
It's expected to be the 1st Platinum LEED certified home in NE Florida (Jacksonville). Sometimes... you get the chance to turn lemons into lemonade!
