Updated: 3/25/09 Two years ago, MILNET pulled together a number of reports and media articles on the near  invasion by Mexican and Central or South American gangs, crossing across our southern border and migrating deep into the U.S. to set up shop. In some cases as far as the middle of Connecticut!  

A recent report, pointed out by Ollie, tells the tale we have been expecting to hear officially for some time now. The report adds even more credence to the earlier MILNET briefing and verifies the concern voiced in that briefing.  The evidence is in, yet few in the media seem to have reacted.  Ollie, of course, is on it.

This is more than just supposition or listing the possibilities.  This is not simply tossed off a right wing conspiracy B.S.  This is hard evidence compiled by the House Committee on Homeland Security and it is frightening.  As Ollie says, this is a MUST READ.  A Line In The Sand: Confronting the Threat at our Southwest Border,

The key findings of the Committee are listed below.

It is a frightening and yes, eye opening account of the failure of our government to protect us.  Why you ask?  Every border agent knows that for all of the persons captured coming across our border, tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands slip across (according to the report quoting interviewed border patrol estimates in  August of 2006 -- they do not capture between 70 and 90 percent of all those crossing the border illegally).

We too can do the math.    If the border patrol and ICE (formerly the INS) agents have captured tens of thousands of so called Special Interest Aliens -- many of whom are  members of terrorist organizations or people receiving documentation from Venezuela, then the actual numbers missed is in the hundreds of thousands.   Plenty of grist for the American housed Jihadist program.  Note the term OTMs -- it means Other Than Mexican nationals -- typically South American or Middle Eastern or Caribbean transients using Central or South America and Mexico as their route into the U.S.:   

1. 30,147 OTMS apprehended in FY2003, 44,614 in FY2004, 165,178 in FY2005 and 108,025 in FY2006.  The implication of double, triple or up to nine times the number who slipped through.   

2. DHS has reported a 41% increase in apprehensions of Special Interest Aliens (aliens from countries such as Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, Cuba, Brazil, Ecuador, China, Russia, Yemen, Albania, Yugoslavia and Afghanistan)  

3. "The data indicates that each year hundreds of illegal aliens from countries known to harbor terrorists or promote terrorism are routinely encountered and apprehended attempting to enter the U.S. illegally between Ports of Entry."

Examples given (by no means the only cases, these are only indicative of the problem):        

1. Seven illegal alien Iraqis in Brownsville Texas in June of 2006        

2. Afghani illegal found swimming across the Rio Grande near Hidalgo, Texas in August of 2006        

3. Seven Chinese illegals apprehended in the Rio Grande Valley area of Texas in October of 2006.        

4. Neeran Zaia and Basema Sesi were arrested after being found to be operating a human smuggling operation by bringing in illegal middle eastern aliens through staging areas in Central and South America, into Mexico and then across the border into the U.S.  Investigators documented more than 200 and fear the number is far larger.        

5. Mahmoud Youssef Kourani pleaded guilty to charges aiding Hezbollah in Dearborn Michigan, soliciting funds and sending them overseas.  He came into the U.S. across the Mexican border.  He is the brother of the Hezbollah Chief of Military Operations in Southern Lebanon.        

6. Salim Boughader Mucharrafille, a cafe owner in Tiajuna Mexico, was arrested for smuggling more than 200 Lebanese into the U.S illegally.

FBI Director Meuller told the committee on Mar 8, 2005, "...there are individuals from countries with known al-Qa'ida connections who are changing their Islamic surnames to Hispanic-sounding names and obtaining false Hispanic identities, learning to speak Spanish and pretending to be Hispanic immigrants."  

1. According to senior U.S. military and intelligence officials, Venezuela is "emerging as a potential hub of terrorism in the Western Hemisphere, providing assistance to Islamic radicals from the Middle East and other terrorists.  

2. Venezuela is providing support -- including identity documents--the could prove useful to radical Islamic groups...the Venezuela government has issued thousands of cedulas, the equivalent of social security cards, to people from places such as Cuba, Columbia, and Middle Eastern nations that host foreign terrorist organizations...some of these cedulas could be subsequently used to obtain Venezuelan passports and even American visas, which could allow the holder to elude immigration checks at the U.S.-Mexican border with fraudulent Venezuelan documents.  

3. Islamic radical groups that support Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamiya Al Gamat are all active in Latin America.  These groups generate funds through money laundering, drug trafficking, and arms deals, making millions of dollars every year via their multiple illicit activities. These cells reach back to the Middle East and extend to this hemisphere...  

4. Federal law enforcement entities estimate they apprehend approximately 10 to 30 percent of illegal aliens crossing the border (this leaves 70 to 90 percent who are NOT apprehended).

Who are the Hezbollah (Hizbollah)?    

* Muslim terrorist group that opposes the West and Israel, and seeks to create a Muslim fundamentalist state modeled on Iran   

* Receives aid from Iran and Syria   

* States that it "sees no legitimacy for the existence of 'Israel'" 

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's request of Arabs to leave Haifa to facilitate the bombing and killing of Jews in Haifa is the identical call heard by the Arabs of Haifa and other cities by the Arab League attacking the new State of Israel in 1948.  2006 - Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah:    

"I have a special message to the Arabs of Haifa, to your martyrs and to your wounded. I call you to leave this city. I hope you do this. ... Please leave so we don't shed your blood, which is our blood."

By 1988 Hezbollah had replaced Amal as the predominant Shiite force in Lebanon. Its base of operation is in Lebanon's Shiite-dominated areas, including parts of Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the Bekaa Valley. Moreover, U.S. intelligence reports say that Hezbollah has set up working cells in Europe, Africa, South America, and North America.  

Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, the fiery preacher of jihad, is considered to be Hezbollah's current spiritual leader. Imad Fayez Mugniyah, who trained with Yasser Arafat's Fatah organization in the 1970s, is Hezbollah's key planner of worldwide terrorist operations. And the organization's senior political leader is Hassan Nasrallah, a former military commander who studied in centers of Shiite theology in Iran and Iraq.

Between 1982 and 2005, Hezbollah was responsible for some 200 terrorist attacks that killed many hundreds of people. Among these actions were a number of kidnappings of Westerners; the 1983 suicide truck bombings in Beirut that killed 241 U.S. Marines in their barracks; the 1983 U.S. embassy bombing (also in Beirut) that killed killed 63 people, including 17 Americans; the 1983 bombing of the French multinational force headquarters that killed 58 French troops; the 1985 hijacking of TWA flight 847, in which one American passenger was murdered; the 1992 bombing of the Israeli embassy in Argentina, which killed 29; and the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in Argentina, which killed 95.   

Also in May 2007, it was reported that Hezbollah had set up a training facility in a relatively secluded area on the Paraguay-Argentina-Brazil border, in preparation for attacks against the United States.

At a nine-nation security conference held in Jerusalem in May 2008, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said that Hezbollah -- "in terms of capabilities, in terms of range of weapons they have, in terms of internal discipline" -- makes al Qaeda look like "a minor league team." Israeli analysts agreed that Hezbollah was the top terrorist organization in the world. According to Dr. Walid Phares, director of the Future Terrorism Project at the Washington-based Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah had "basically defeated" American efforts to build democracy in Lebanon. "His model will be used [by Hamas] in Gaza," said Phares.
