Autism awareness |
Knowing Joey
Joey is autistic. What do I want people to know about Joey?
He's a fabulous big brother.
He loves his family and his friends.
He loves pumpkins, cars, and the color blue.
He likes to try new things.
He likes to play games with other children.
He reads three grade levels above his classmates.
He likes to tell jokes.
He just needs a few extra seconds to answer.
He likes to swing really, really high (to the moon!)
He's really good at video games.
He loves math.
He likes meeting new people and playing with them.
He may not talk like you do, think like you do, react like you do, but he is a wonderful, fun, loving child. Seeing the world differently is part of real diversity.
