    Time to legalize pot?

    More from a1001words

    Candle Light Vigil

I trust the pot-heads had a nice earth hour last night ?  Lights out, a little vino, lighters going off about every 3 minutes or so, what's that called ;  candle light vigil..

I note again today, that the 'mojo' merry makers are still hard at work trying to convince the rest of us how ignorant and stupid we all are.  The main talking point seems to be revenue, to relieve our nations economic crisis.  There are other smaller points that they harp on, having to do with the criminal element,  medical benefits, that most seem to think it's a cure all, when in fact it's only useful to off-set chemo treatment and encourage an appetite.

But as long as those want to bring sharply into focus the claim that Uncle Sam will make a hefty sum off a 'hypothetical' tax, why don't we just get it all out of the way at once and include Prostitution and Child Pornography in with the proposed legalization of Marijuana.  Those two alone would even generate a positive cash flow,  (no pun intended) that way we won't have to broach the subject again.

It's not about legislating morality, it's way beyond that.  And it's much too late in the day to do anything about Tobacco and Alcohol, the data we have now simply wasn't available back then.  But it's not to late for Marijuana !  One does not need a 'GOD' to find some of the argument for legalization disturbing.   Money vs. What ?  What is the other side of the equation ?   Most have tried to paint such a simple and harmless picture.  And I've not heard any of the proponents get truthful enough to rationally look at the pit-falls, and there are mega repercussions.
    _______________________________________________________________________
I do not want to see those go to prison for a 'personal use amount', and in fact most States have relaxed their laws concerning that.  Some have tried to portray a which hunt of those who partake, simply not the case in 2009.  If your in prison for marijuana from with-in the last 5-7 years in most States it wasn't for having a dime bag of weed on you.  Again it's a campaign full of distortions and innuendoes.  Doesn't help the argument for legalization by acting like criminals.
