This iReport is part of an assignment:
Flooding in the Great Plains |
Wanting to thank those that had to run away!
Here is a short video/picture of our house. On Friday, we were able to get 200 plus volunteers in here to build another dike. We were almost finished when they told us to run as there had been a break somewhere. We ran down the streets before we could thank all of the amazing people that came from over the river and also several hours away to help us, strangers, save our home and neighborhood. Since then, we have been able to come back and man the dikes and we are holding strong. Hopefully we can find someway to thank everyone that had to run away...
This video shows that we have two dikes as the first one was not going to hold so we had to cut our pool deck in half in order to make a new dike. This is hard on my mom as the pool is her favorite part of the house!!!
Keep the prayers going...we have a long week ahead of us still!!!
