Kabul, Afghanistan March 2008
Getting medical assistance to people in a combat zone presents it's own very special set of difficulties. The object is to care for as many as possible without being injured or killed whilst doing it! With the Taliban ever present on our heals we have to use every skill in our inventory to get the job done. We give all the glory and thanks to our Lord and God!
While we are restricted to showing only certain parts of our missions for security reasons we have tried to give those in the rest the world an idea of what Afghanistan looks like from the inside. Sometimes just the ride in the Ambulance can be enough to finish off an already wounded , sick or injured person. Every kilometer can means roadblocks , Taliban, IEDs, and holes in the road that can break your vehicle or your back. Once I had to give up my own eye glasses just to be allowed to pass unharmed to the next group of parasites who would take whatever we wewre were willing to part with. It can be tough at times but then again we have met with those Afghans who really do care about other Afghans and make sacrafice's to show it! These are the people who make the future seem brighter for this nation.
Our missions are taken only to aide and comfort those who are NOT taking part in terrorist activities or acting against the Government of Afghanistan. We will never support or give assistance to any group on anyone's list if Terrorist Organizations.
Much help is still needed and the Gandhi Childrens Hospital in Kabul is always in great need! Anyone wishing to have a direct impact should contact us.
