This iReport is part of an assignment:
Autism awareness |
Autism at Its Best
I have a great time with my son Zachary, now four years old. We love playing at the park, watching classic Disney movies, building Thomas and Lionel train sets, spelling words, and sharing laughs.
There is a bright side, a loving side, and a rewarding side to having an autistic child. Each small advance in development is a great reward. Nothing will ever match the first time Zach, who was very slow in developing speech, looked me in the eyes and clearly said, "I love you."
Yes, it is a great challenge for our family, but on this World Autism Awareness Day, i would like the world to know the joys that autistic children bring to all of us.
