Binghamton is in upheaval! We here in Binghamton will work to slowly recover and rebuild after this tragic and horribly malicious event but we will not be forgetting any time in the near future!

In the time that I have been in EMS I have never dealt with or seen ANYTHING that even comes close to touching this, and I highly doubt, pray, and hope that I never do again! Everything else within my EMS career pales in comparison to this shooting!

While standing in the parking lot of one of the hospitals right outside of the Ambulance Bay Emergency Department entrance a pedestrian came up and started asking questions, being that I was still in the midst of everything I was not in the position to comment to him, but as we stood there the Albany SWAT helicopter began circling in the air in a not to distant position. But the guy says and I quote "Its like god-damn downtown Baghdad!". Now seriously this is a troubling statement to hear from an individual who barely knows what is happening and they are able to come to that conclusion!

What I can not believe is the fact that this is a international incident that occured within my own backyard! The FBI, ATF, US Marshals, and even the CIA were present!

We will all be hoping and praying for the families of the deceased and injured! All I ask is that everyone across the nation come together and pray and keep Binghamton in your minds as we attempt to piece our community back together! I ask that you learn from this and you don't let it happen in your community!
