Thomas Jefferson Speaks
A chalk drawing of Thomas Jefferson by local architect Pete O'Shea drawn on the First Amendment Monument in Charlottesville, Virginia. The drawing was put there to call attention to the 2009 Jefferson Muzzle Awards (http://www.tjcenter.org/muzzles/muzzle-archive-2009/) announced today. The Muzzles are a dubious honor that the Thomas Jefferson Center for the Protection of Free Expression awards evey year to some of the more egregious or ridiculous affronts to free speech.
